The 2014 Population and Housing Census results established the districtโ€™s total population at 185,519 of which 53 percent are females and 47 percent males. The 2014 population density was 341.9 persons per square kilometre. Mitooma district has high population growth rate of about 1.19 percent which is below the National of 3.03 percent and fertility growth rate of 5.2% where by a total of 247,892 population is expected by year 2025.
